Instead of a number telling you how many people liked your latest puppy photo, you’ll see "liked by Beyoncé and others" (if Beyoncé and others did, in fact, like your photo). "Hide like counts" update notification on InstagramLuckily, I got the new feature last night as an update within the Instagram app. Just make sure you have the latest version of Instagram installed on your device. Once the update is available, a "Choose how you see likes on posts" banner will appear at the top of your Feed. Simply tap "Go to Settings" to get the hide like and view counts setting in the Instagram app. Since this feature is currently in a test phase, the setting to turn off likes on Instagram isn’t available to everyone.

We already know that influencers may be affected by this change the most. While cooperating with more conscious brands, influencers may be asked to report effects of their campaigns in a much more detailed way. A good example from Instagram itself was Stories, where influencers, and users, are more willing to share, and watch, others’ content.

This functionality will obfuscate the total number of Likes from posts, photos and videos alike, that can be seen on the main feed, profiles, linked pages and Explore page. To hide like counts on Instagram, you can go to your settings and click on the "posts" section. If you choose to turn off like counts here, it will apply to all your posts. In addition, you will also be able to hide the counts for individual posts before you share them. Alternatively, you can choose to hide like counts before sharing a post. You’re free to change your mind after the post goes live and turn this setting on or off.
